The people of UUCLR gather for Worship on Sundays at both 9AM and 11AM and at other times on special occasions.  At least once a month, worship services are conducted by members of the congregation or special guests.

  • Lifespan Religious Education

We offer Lifespan Religious Education on Sundays and at other times throughout the week.  The link above will take you to the RE-web at uuclr.org.
  • Fellowship Coffee Hour

Join us for coffee and conversation in the fellowship hall following the 11AM worship service each Sunday.

  • Covenant Groups
Covenant Groups were launched at UUCLR in the fall of 1998. Initially five groups were formed. The intention was to create diverse groups that would meet in homes or at church and would follow a fairly specific covenant group format as articulated by Reverend Bob Hill, our then SWUU District Executive. The goal was to deepen our relationships with each other in small group settings.

Covenant groups typically meet monthly for a two hour block of time. They start with a reading and a check-in and close with a reading and a check-out. Individual covenant groups choose how they want to conduct the business in between. Most groups pick a topic and a group member facilitates the discussion of the monthly topic. The 'Leader' or 'Facilitator' of the group is there to keep the group on track and facilitate the creation and adherence to the group 'covenant.'

Covenant groups are a major form of small group ministry at UUCLR and all are encouraged to join a group. Assignment is based on random appointment by the Covenant Group Coordinator (within the constraints of open slots, day/time needs and geography-there is a north of the river group). There are currently five groups that meet on various week nights and a new daytime group formed in 2008.

  • Young Adult Group

This active and supportive group for people ages 18-35 meets on the second Sunday at noon.  They also maintain an active schedule of social events and communicate frequently by email.

  • Small Group Dinners

Small group dinners provide forums for members and friends to get better acquainted. These dinners are held in participants' homes the second Saturday of each month from September to June.  The size is limited to eight to twelve attendees, and the meal is a coordinated potluck; the host provide the entrée, and attendees bring the side dishes.

  • Choir

Our choir rehearses each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary and usually sings on average twice a month during the worship service.

  • Between the Lines Book Club

This evening book discussion group meets on the first Monday night of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Pehrson Room. On March 1, 2010 we will discuss White Tiger by Aravind Adiga.  On April 5, 2010 we will discuss The Bluest Eye by Tony Morrison.  For more information contact Allan Ward at 501-664-5921

  • Interweave

Interweave is an organization affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association and is dedicated to the spiritual, political and social well-being of UUs who are lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender persons and their heterosexual allies.  Interweave facilitates the celebration of the culture and lives of its members.  Potluck dinners monthly.

  • Men's Discussion

The Men's Group meets in member's homes monthly and schedules monthly outings and recreational activities.  The Men's Group also supports Social Action issues and projects and other activities for the congregation.  See The Outer Circle for meeting times.

The Social Responsibility Committee and the Denominational Affairs Committee sponsor volunteer activities, including preparing and serving needs for Our House (a local shelter for homeless families), collecting donated items for the Advocates for Battered Women's Shelter and helping Garland School through the partners in Education project.  These committees also work with the UU Service Committee in promoting self-help projects worldwide.  UUCLR also supports and participates in activities of the Arkansas Interfaith Conference, and supports the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program.
