ReQuestors are now reading and discussing the book The Case for God by Karen Armstrong in which she reviews the history of humankind's experience of the sacred and asks "Why is it that atheists and theists alike now think and speak about God in a way that veers so profoundly from the thinking of our ancestors?"

Buddhism:  Wednesdays @ 6:30pm in Pehrson

Do you want to learn more about Buddhism?  Join us Wednesday evenings January 13th - March 31st!  The class consists of a short DVD lecture, followed by a discussion led by Aulden Murch.  We will explore Buddhist tradition from its birth in India to its present day manifestations.

Lost Christianities and the Jesus Tradition:  Thursdays, 7pm - 9pm in the Sanctuary

Beginning January 21

This course explores the wide range of beliefs held by the early Christians.  It is a course that considers the varieties of belief and practice in the early days before the church had decided what was theologically acceptable and determined which books should be included in its canon of scripture.  We will utilize a collection of DVD lectures led by a leading religion professor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel and discussion facilitated by Rev. Bob Klein, Rachel Finley, and Deb Burke.  While this is a series of lectures, please feel free to attend any session that interests you.  No long-term commitment is necessary!  Other topics will be announced as we progress.
